Recognition :-
Past Perfect Continuous Tense की क्रिया से बीते हुए समय में कार्य जारी रहने का अहसास होता है | इस tense के वाक्यों में कार्य (जो भी है करते है )जारी रहने का समय दिया होता है | इस tense के हिन्दी वाक्यों बदलने पर ये ऐसे लगेंगे के रहा था, रही थी, रहे थे आदि शब्द आते हैं जैसे --
मैं एक घन्टे से अपनी किताब पढ रहा था |
प्रिया सोमवार से सकूल जा रही थी |
इन वाक्यों का अनुवाद करते समय निश्चित (fixed point of time ) समय के लिए since तथा अनिश्चित (duration of time ) समय के लिए for का प्रयोग करते हैं |
निश्चित समय (point of time) दिखाने के लिए since का use करते हैं जैसे -- since 10 o'clock, since monday, since morning, since1980 etc. समय की अवधि (period of time) दर्शाने के लिये for का use करते हैं जैसे -- for two years, for three days, for one month, for two hours etc.

Formula :
Subject + had been + verb(ing form) + object(यदि हो) + since/for + time
वह दो घन्टे से पढ़ रही थी थी |
She had been reading/studying for two hours.
हम सोमवार से सकूल जा रहे थे |
We had been going to school since Monday.
मैं सुबह से पार्क में टहलता रहा था |
She had been watching t.v since morning.
वह चार घंटे से सो रही थी।
She had been sleeping for four hours.
वह लडकी सन् 1995 से इस शहर में रह रही थी |
That girl had been living in this city since 1995.
वह एक साल से कठिनाईयों का सामना कर रही थी।
She had been facing troubles for one year.
समीर सोमवार से कठिन परिश्रम कर रहा था |
Sameer had been working hard since Monday.
हम अक्तूबर से गर्म कपडे पहन रहे थे।
We had been wearing woolens since October.
वे एक घन्टे से स्टेशन पर आपकी प्रतीक्षा कर रहे थे |
They had been waiting for you on the station for one hour.
हम कई सालों से कार रेस में भाग ले रहे थे।
We had been taking part in car race for many years.
तुम अपना पाठ सुबह से याद कर रहे थे |

कर्ता [ Subject ] + had not been + क्रिया [ Verb ] का 1st Form + ing + Object + since / for + time + ?
Mohan had not been reading his book for two hours.
मोहन दो घन्टे से अपनी किताब नहीं पढ रहा था |
Your brother had not been sleeping in this room for two hours.
तुम्हारा भाई दो घन्टे से इस कमरे में नहीं सो रहा था |
The girl had not been sleeping since yesterday.
कल से वर्षा तेज नहीं हो रही थी।
The prime minister had not been delivering speech on the stage for one hour.
प्रधान मंत्री जी एक घन्टे से स्टेज पर भाषण नहीं दे रहे थे |
He had not been studying in that school since 2012.
वह उस स्कूल में सन् 2012 से नहीं पढ रहा था |
My father had not been reading the newspaper for ten minutes.
मेरे पिताजी दस मिनट से अखबार नहीं पढ रहे थे |
He had not been walking for one hour.
हम दो साल से यहाँ नौकरी नहीं कर रहे थे।
The children had not been making a noise on this street for one hour.
इस गली में एक घन्टे से बच्चे शोर नहीं मचा रहे थे |
We had not been driving the Skuti for one year.
वे उनके साथ कई दिनों से नहीं खेल रहे थे।
वह एक सप्ताह से नहीं खेल रहा था।
She had not been playing for one week.
The teacher had not been teaching English in this room since 10 o'clock.
इस कमरे में मास्टरजी दस बजे से अँग्रेज़ी नहीं पढा रहे थे |
The boys had not been playing cricket in the ground for one hour.
लडके मैदान में एक घन्टे से क्रिकेट नहीं खेल रहे थे |
